Ancelotti Offers Insight Into The Real Reason Klopp Quit Liverpool

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has stated that Jurgen Klopp resigned as Liverpool Boss because he couldn’t handle the “excessive burdens” of being an elite manager.

On the last day of the season, the German, who had announced his departure at the beginning of the year, witnessed his team’s final victory and had an emotional send-off. It brought an end to Klopp’s nearly nine-year tenure at Anfield, during which he won both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The former Borussia Dortmund gaffer is well known for his aggressive style of play and for being animated and showing his emotions on the sidelines.

According to The Mirror, Ancelotti likened his exit to that of Arrigo Sacchi, who left the enormously successful AC Milan team in the 1990s due to simply being overworked.

He told il Giornale : “I don’t see any particular news, this has always been our job but the Klopp case is significant.

The continuous pressure, the load of responsibilities become excessive burdens, the obsession takes over. It also happened to Arrigo Sacchi.”

This is supported by Klopp’s admission, made public upon his departure. That, considering what it takes to be competitive at the highest level, he just did not have the energy to stay on Merseyside.

He said: “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now.

“I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”
