Tottenham Overtake Man United In Race To Sign Premier League Star

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign Crystal Palace winger, Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window.

Eze, 25, had an incredible second half of the 2023–24 Premier League season, finishing with 11 goals and 4 assists in 27 games. This included a run of five goals and two assists in his last six games. Thereby, securing his spot in the England team for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

Due to his performance, Manchester United and Spurs, among other Premier League teams, have expressed interest in signing him. With three years remaining on his contract, Eze’s deal includes a £60 million release clause.

Furthermore, according to The Sun as reported by Football London, Tottenham are in a stronger position to go after Eze.

Spurs, unlike some of their rivals like Newcastle and Aston Villa, are in a healthy position when it comes to Profit and Sustainability, and they could bring in Eze without having to raise money.

Given the value of their squad, United may also need to sell in order to make major moves during the transfer window. This complicates matters, though.

Son Heung-min, James Maddison, and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou are also represented by Eze’s agents, CAA Base.

This summer, Postecoglou will undoubtedly want to bolster his team. And the club are in a strong position to move for Eze even though doing so would require a significant financial outlay.
