Chelsea Could Sign £65M Striker Klopp Endorsed

Bournemouth striker, Dominic Solanke could make a return to Chelsea with former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp praising him in the past.

The ex-Liverpool ace has emerged as a possible acquisition for Arsenal and the Blues following a successful season with the Cherries. By congratulating Tosin Adarabioyo on his transfer from Fulham to Stamford Bridge, Solanke, 26, alluded to his enduring affection for the West London-based club.

Solanke was also reportedly considered by Arsenal during the January transfer window. But Mikel Arteta’s side took no further action.

After moving up through Chelsea’s ranks, Solanke became a member of the first team under Jose Mourinho’s second managerial tenure.

Liverpool made an unexpected move to sign Solanke a year after he spent time on loan at Vitesse Arnhem. But under Klopp, his chances of breaking into the first team at Anfield quickly vanished.

When reflecting on the forward’s time at Anfield, Klopp gave the 26-year-old high remarks and seemed to imply that he would be prepared for a transfer to a major club.

Before Liverpool’s January trip to play Bournemouth, Klopp was questioned regarding Solanke’s development since leaving Anfield.

According to The Mirror, the German said: “I’m so happy for Dom.

“When we signed him we were all so excited about the talent he is, and [he] had so much potential when he came here. I’m so happy for him because he’s a wonderful kid, a real talent and a real player.

“He went the hard way, trying here, realising maybe it’s a bit too early, then going to Bournemouth then doing it all the way is really cool.”
