Arsenal Can Scout Perfect Mikel Arteta Signing In Slovenia

The other two teams in Group D play each other at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Thursday before England’s match against Denmark. Arsenal had hoped to watch one of their new acquisitions in action as Slovenia takes on Serbia at Euro 2024. Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, who had appeared certain to join the Gunners in the summer transfer window, instead decided to sign a new contract to stay at RB Leipzig. Reported By Football London.

The 21-year-old looked good in Slovenia’s opening game against Denmark, almost scoring with two superb long-range strikes. He held the ball up well, especially in the second half, demonstrating his strength and obvious class with those two pot-shots at goal, demonstrating why Arsenal were interested in signing him this summer.

However, he won’t be playing for Arsenal this season, at least not for Mikel Arteta and Edu, so they will need to explore elsewhere for a striker. Additionally, they might give one player another look who, like Sesko, has been strongly connected to a move to the Emirates Stadium for the Slovenia vs. Serbia match.

Serbia took on England in their first Euro 2024 match, losing 1-0 to a Jude Bellingham goal. Vlahovic had two shots, one of which was on target – with Jordan Pickford in fairness having to produce a fine save to deny him – winning one aerial duel. He only touched the ball 18 times, however, which may not be the kind of frontman Arteta is looking for, with only two of his six passes reaching their intended target.

Serbia were stifled somewhat in the first half by England, but did have more of the ball in the second period as the Three Lions sat back.
