Tottenham Boss Praises Declan Rice’s Remarks Over Euro 2024 Criticism

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has offered his opinions on the verbal sparring that the England squad is now experiencing at Euro 2024.

As Gareth Southgate’s team progresses through the elimination phases, a number of players—including Declan Rice, an Arsenal midfielder—have come under scrutiny.

James McClean recently labeled Arsenal’s club record transfer as “overrated” as he and his England teammates struggle at Euro 2024.

England opened their account with a decisive 1-0 victory against Serbia, then they were fortunate to draw 1-1 with Denmark.

Declan Rice and other players pushed the squad to “go out and make a statement” and prove they were worthy of this tournament before their goalless and final group game against Slovenia on Tuesday.

They are not the only elite athletes being questioned in Germany; Belgium’s Kevin de Bruyne has also been subjected to similar inquiries.

And the Spurs manager thought it was “perfect” when he heard Rice say the same thing, reports Hitc

“I look at it through a different prism,” responded Postecoglou on players not being able to hide away from criticism given that there is so much media coverage.

“We look at that from our perspective. What I found with young people, they are a lot more mature than we think they are.”

Declan Rice made a superb statement there. “Get outside, have fun, and leave a mark.” De Bruyne went out there to make a statement, like you witnessed the other night. Even though they were knocked out, Modric and his teammates still made a statement.

That is the main purpose of this platform.
