Sport Witness revealed on June 24th that Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta had spoken with Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad to discuss the Gunners’ possible proposal.
A spanish broadcast on Wednesday repeats that information and offers their own analysis on Arsenal’s pursuit of Merino.
The north London club is reportedly interested in the 28-year-old, who is adored by Arteta.
Merino is a member of the Spanish team that defeated France on Tuesday to go to the Euro 2024 championship.
In the quarterfinal, he scored a late goal to assist La Roja defeat Germany.

The North London team thinks they can sign the Spain international before the summer ends.
Arteta is rumored to be “personally trying to convince” his countryman to sign with Arsenal.
The former Newcastle United player has a €65 million release clause and one year remaining on his contract. He’ll probably go for a lot less.
Merino will first speak with La Real about his future after the Euros final, which is his primary concern at the moment.
If he declines the option of a contract renewal and a club makes a “good sum of money” offer, Real Sociedad may consider moving him this summer.
Aston Villa was already individually ruled out by Unai Emery.
