New Juventus Coach Calls New Man United Signee Joshua Zirkzee ‘The Next Ronaldinho’

Manchester United has reached an agreement to sign Joshua Zirkzee and is getting ready to reveal the first acquisition of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era.

As the team looks to strengthen their attacking options and help striker Rasmus Hojlund, the 23-year-old Netherlands international will join on a €42.5 million contract.

After an excellent season with Bologna, where he scored 12 goals and provided seven assists as his team finished fifth under manager Thiago Motta, Zirkzee had two appearances off the bench at Euro 2024, reports Fourfourtwo

Given that Motta, who joined Juventus last month, has remarked in the past that the forward reminds him of the exciting Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho, with whom he played at Barcelona, it’s safe to assume that the Dutchman was a huge fan of Motta’s.

“He stated that his heroes are Ibrahimovic and Batistuta, two outstanding players,” Motta remarked following Zirkzee’s game-winning late goal for Bologna against Lazio in February.

“I can’t compare him to anyone, but when I see him on a daily basis, he reminds me of the Ronaldinho I played with at Barcelona.

“His name is Joshua, and he’s unique, passionate about football, and a diligent worker in training.
