Man Utd ‘Reject Early Bids’ For Scott McTominay As Interested Club Confirm Talks

Galatasaray are publicly interested in signing Scott McTominay, as Manchester United reportedly rejected three bids for him this summer.

McTominay came close to departing the Red Devils last year due to interest from West Ham United, but the move was not completed, and he went on to play a significant role in their 2023/24 season, scoring 10 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

That form has not gone unnoticed outside of United, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that the club has turned down several proposals for McTominay in recent weeks.

McTominay, United’s native star, remains highly valued. He has one year left on his contract, but the club has the option to extend it for another year.

When West Ham made a £30 million approach for the Scotland international last year, United countered with a £40 million offer, and the deal fell through. If McTominay’s asking price remains the same, none of his existing suitors are likely to meet it.

Galatasaray vice-chairman Ibrahim Hatipoglu has acknowledged that the reigning Turkish champions are in talks with United about a cost for McTominay and are also interested in Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rennes’ Guela Doue, but not in Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

“McTominay’s transfer fee is being discussed,” Hatipoglu informed Haber Sari Kirmizi. “Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a good player; he has many suitors and wants to consider all alternatives.

“There is no mention of single-digit figures for right-back and midfield movements. However, we have budgeted less than €10 million for right back.
