Modric has extended his contract with Real Madrid by one year, as is normal for individuals over thirty, reports Football Espana

This season, Modric is probably going to be the oldest player on the Real Madrid roster. He may also end up with the most awards.

This season, Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup is yet unknown, however Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni are expected to start.

If Jude Bellingham stays forward, he will challenge for the typical third slot in midfield, between Eduardo Camavinga and Modric.

Though he didn’t start as much last year, the experienced Croatian was extremely helpful to Ancelotti in the closing stages.

Modrić has received multiple individual honors, such as the Ballon d’Or in 2018, best FIFA Men’s Player, the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award, and the IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker Award.
