Manchester United And AC Milan Lock Horns To Sign AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana

Joshua Zirkzee turned down AC Milan in order to finalize his transfer to Manchester United last month, reports Sport Witness

Several reports from Italy indicate that the Serie A team might potentially lose out on Youssouf Fofana of AS Monaco to the Red Devils.

Milan has been after the midfield player but has not yet been able to reach a deal with the Ligue 1 team. Gianluca Di Marzio asserts that there is a gap between the two clubs, although he does not provide any specific numbers.

According to the journalist, “there was an insertion from Manchester United,” which has enabled the Premier League team to compete.

The 25-year-old wants to play for the Italian team, but the Rossoneri may have a “problem” if the France international is willing to play for Manchester United.

The English team hasn’t made a bid, but their “insertion can destabilize” Milan’s talks with Monaco, allowing Monaco to demand a greater price.

As a result, Milan is considering Manu Koné of Borussia Monchengladbach as a Fofana substitute.

Milan has allegedly been dragging out talks because of their plan to get signings on their own terms. Monaco is irritated because they haven’t accepted their most recent offer of €17 million for Fofana.

There are rumors that Monaco is “trying to open negotiations” with a number of teams. Despite not having put in an offer for the Frenchman yet, Erik ten Hag’s team is the most recent.

It’s unclear if this is an attempt to put pressure on AC Milan.
