West Ham Hijack Juventus’ Bid To Sign Jean-Clair Todibo

West Ham United are close to signing Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice despite stiff opposition from Juventus, with the France defender scheduled for a physical in London on Friday.

West Ham had moved into a strong position in their pursuit of Todibo last month, but there were suspicions that the 24-year-old was more interested in moving to Italy.

Hopes for a deal have been resurrected in east London, though Juventus are still believed to be involved. Nice and West Ham have agreed to a loan move with the potential of a permanent transfer worth £34 million.

West Ham’s pursuit of Todibo comes as the club’s captain, defender Kurt Zouma, is close to moving to the UAE.

Earlier this year, Manchester United expressed interest in Todibo, but because Nice is owned by Ineos, a move to Old Trafford would have been impossible due to multi-club ownership restrictions. According on Telegram.

It’s been another busy summer at the London Stadium, with West Ham investing more than £100 million in recruits for new manager Julen Lopetegui. Technical director Tim Steidten, who clashed with previous manager David Moyes, has been one of the Premier League’s most aggressive dealmakers.

If a trade for Todibo is finally completed, he would be the second centre-back to join the club this summer after Max Kilman arrived from Wolves for £40 million.
