Manchester City Footballers Express Their Feelings Towards Chelsea As They Celebrate Bernardo Silva’s Birthday

Manchester City players partied all night on Wednesday, four days before the start of the Premier League season.

The English champions, who will face Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, were in Manchester to celebrate Bernardo Silva’s birthday. The Portuguese, who turned 30 on Saturday, the same day City defeated bitter rivals Manchester United on penalties in the Community Shield thanks to his 88th-minute equaliser, celebrated at upmarket seafood restaurant Sexy Fish.

The majority of Silva’s teammates attended the party, taking time to relax ahead of their top-flight opener but not going as hard as they did before last season’s FA Cup final. Despite playing against Manchester United six days later, some City players stayed up until 5 a.m. after capturing the Premier League trophy in May. Reported By Mirror.

Pep Guardiola’s side eventually lost the game at Wembley Stadium after a poor start. Silva’s celebration was less raucous, with the birthday boy leaving just before 1 a.m. after the festivities ended shortly after midnight.

The majority of City’s players, some of whom were with their spouses, such as Silva and wife Ines Tomaz, exited by the front entrance, but Jack Grealish strolled out the rear. The England international, who did not make the squad at Euro 2024 and has a busy season at City, utilized an underground service tunnel to reach a staff carpark where his lift home was waiting.

Grealish, 28, is a doubt for the Chelsea encounter after suffering an injury late in pre-season. “It’s a big blow because he could play all the pre-season and get the rhythm, he was aggressive and the third and fourth game was really, really good,” says Guardiola.

“Maybe against Chelsea he will be prepared. I am fairly sure Ipswich Town (August 24).
