Diego Simeone has stated that only time will tell if he can deploy Joao Felix in his team’s first La Liga match, with the attacking midfielder reportedly on his way to Chelsea. Atletico Madrid will face Villarreal on Monday night to kick off the 2024/25 season. Reported By giveme sport
The Spanish team finished fourth in the league last season and will look to move up the ladder this time around. They might be without Felix, who has been linked with a return to Chelsea. The Portuguese star played part of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge, and while it was not the most successful time, the English club is interested in bringing him back this summer.

The Blues supposedly advanced. The Blues have reportedly advanced into the final stages of negotiating a deal for Felix, but while he is still at Atletico Madrid, Simeone will wait and see as to whether he can use him, as he hinted at during a pre-match press conference.
Felix is Close to Joining Chelsea
Felix returned to Simeone’s squad this summer after spending the previous season at Barcelona, but it appears he will not be staying long. Atletico Madrid has been attempting to lure Conor Gallagher away from Stamford Bridge all summer, and it has been suggested that the Spaniards may finally have their man, finalizing a deal that would see Felix move to London in the reverse direction.
“Joao Félix is performing admirably, demonstrating the qualities of a team player who is prepared for any task and eager to compete with his teammates. “Time will tell whether we can use him tomorrow or not.”
Felix, who has previously been on loan at the club, is expected to sign a permanent deal this summer, with Fabrizio Romano stating that Chelsea will pay a maximum of €45 million, including add-ons, for the star. Enzo Maresca and his team are certainly interested in the 24-year-old, who will be looking for a more successful spell in England this time around if he signs.
