Manchester United Face New Manuel Ugarte Transfer Battle As Berge And McTominay Improve

Fulham are unlikely to make another bid for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay if they sign Sander Berge from Burnley.

Burnley has accepted a £25 million bid from Fulham for Berge, who has also sparked interest from United this summer. Reported By Manchester News.

The Norwegian international was named as a backup option, with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte still United’s top target.

United spoke with Burnley about Berge earlier this month, and it is understood they are confident in completing a deal for Ugarte.

The potential signing of Ugarte, 23, is said to be dependant on the departure of McTominay, who has been the target of unsuccessful bids from Fulham. Fulham’s final offer for McTominay was £23 million.

McTominay, 27, is in the final year of his contract, and while United has the option to extend it for another year, his resale worth is unlikely to increase in the coming year.

Last year, United rated McTominay at £40 million, rejecting a proposal of £30 million from West Ham United.

United already has five out-and-out central midfielders and will need to sell one to fund Ugarte’s proposed move.
