Barcelona believes that reinforcements may still be made even with the acquisition of Dani Olmo and the continued interest in players such as Federico Chiesa.
Barcelona is said to think that a new player would be more than welcome in terms of defense for the time being.

After rumors circulated that Eric Garcia would end up permanently joining Girona for €15 million over the last few days of the transfer window,
Barcelona seems to have another option in place who might come from Germany to support Hansi Flick’s defense.
Barcelona is reportedly investigating the potential of signing 28-year-old Jonathan Tah, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen.
The German defender’s contract ends in the summer, and it is quite likely that the Bundesliga team will not want to lose him for nothing. He has not yet renewed with his club.
For this reason, it’s said that Barcelona may have a strong opportunity to sign the player for less money this summer than usual. Barça is aware that the player’s asking price of over €20 million is quite low when considering the player’s typical worth.
Time is obviously not on Barça’s side, though, since Bayern Munich has been interested in Tah’s services for a while as well.
However, having trained Tah while he was a member of the German national team, Hansi Flick is well aware of his skills when it comes to Barcelona.
His physical characteristics, both on the ground and in the air, account for the majority of his strengths.
The player would provide Barcelona with a counter alternative to fight opponents that rely too much on trying to overwhelm their rivals because of his exceptional height and physical frame.
