Pundit Claims A ‘Worrying Issue’ Hindered Arsenal Star Against Brighton

Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion in what was just their third Premier League match of the season.

The Gunners had a number of issues against the Seagulls with the red card to Declan Rice a major talking point in the lunchtime kickoff.

After taking an early knock against Brighton, Martin Odegaard wasn’t quite himself. According to TBR Football, Adrian Clarke, in an interview with the Handbrake Off Podcast, observed that the Norwegian appeared to be severely impacted by the injury.

In fact, Clarke claims that Odegaard wasn’t sprinting as well against Brighton as normal. Not covering as much territory as usual nor covering the ground as swiftly.

“Odegaard got a bit of an injury, he wasn’t moving freely, he wasn’t covering ground as he usually does, he wasn’t covering it as quickly as he does. Bukayo Saka for that first 20 minutes though was mesmeric,” Clarke said.

Over the weekend, Arsenal dropped their first points of the season. And it’s possible that the Seagulls established the pattern for upsetting Mikel Arteta’s team.

Even though Brighton are praised for their beautiful football, the team doesn’t hesitate to use the dark arts when necessary.

It is hoped that Odegaard, who has been an integral part of Arsenal’s success in these matches in recent years, can recover fully from his injury over this international break and find his best form against Tottenham in the north London derby.
