Alan Shearer is astounded that Liverpool has allowed star winger Mohamed Salah to run down his contract with the club.
Salah played a key role in the team’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United this weekend, giving two assists for Luis Diaz and scoring the third goal to seal the deal against their fierce rivals. Reported By Mirror.
The Egyptian winger has been the standout player since his arrival in 2017, scoring 214 goals and assisted 92 times in 352 games for the club. Salah signed a three-year contract with the club in July 2022, keeping him there until the summer of 2025 on a whopping £350,000 a week.

However, there has apparently been no movement on his contract since then, leaving ex-Premier League star Shearer astonished by the club’s current decision-making.
Speaking to Betfair, the former Newcastle striker said that he thought Salah was smart for discussing his contract after the United game, claiming he was sending a “message” to Liverpool’s management to get him signed up for the future.
Shearer said: “I think it was a decent move on Mo Salah’s behalf to come out and declare he was treating it like his final season at the club after playing such a vital role in the win over Manchester United.
“I am surprised that no one has approached him or his agent about a contract after a couple of assists, a really good goal, and a player-of-the-match performance.”
“The situation between him, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil Van Dijk, I’m really surprised they’ve allowed three big-hitters to get to this stage.
