Trent Alexander-Arnold Refuses To Extend Contract With Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold has declined a contract extension from Liverpool and may be headed to Real Madrid. The full-back, whose contract expires at the conclusion of current year, has been the subject of speculation all summer.

FourfourTwo reports that should Alexander-Arnold fail to reach an agreement with Liverpool for a new contract. Real Madrid will approach the England international in January regarding a pre-contract offer.

Dani Carvajal, who is currently 32 and Lucas Vazquez, who is 33, are the right backs whom Los Blancos apparently want to replace.

But Liverpool is not out of the woods just yet. Alexander-Arnold and the club are reportedly still in negotiations and there is still plenty of time to reach an agreement on a contract extension.

Due of his strong bond with the team, which he has been a part of since he was six years old, the 25-year-old may eventually be convinced to stay by Liverpool. Being a one-club guy and the prestige that entails it might appeal to Alexander-Arnold, who has been hailed as a future captain.

Though Alexander-Arnold has already won every trophy available at Liverpool, a change of pace and a fresh challenge in the Spanish city would potentially be alluring.
