Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is expected to miss Sunday’s North London derby, due to an ankle injury sustained while playing for Norway in the international arena, marking the beginning of a difficult week for the Gunners.

During a Nations League match against Austria, Odegaard hurt his ankle and had to be helped off the field.
The coach of Norway, Stale Solbakken, said to TV2: “It looked bad in the dressing room too.”
Ola Sand, the team doctor, said via Sky Sports “His ankle sprained just a little. We’ll wait until Tuesday evening to see out what transpires and then decide what to do.”
Later on Tuesday, further information on the extent of the damage should become available. Odegaard, meanwhile, now appears highly unlikely to play against Tottenham on Sunday, since Mikel Arteta is expected to be denied access to his whole starting lineup for the game.
The most apparent choice to succeed Odegaard is Leandro Trossard. If Trossard were to be moved, Raheem Sterling, who signed on loan from Arsenal, may be able to start for the first time at Tottenham on the left wing.
Declan Rice is suspended following his odd dismissal against Brighton, while Mikel Merino suffered a broken shoulder during his first practice as a member of the team. Merino is unlikely to make his debut until October.
