Memphis Depay, who left Atlético Madrid as a free agent in July, has agreed to a two-year contract with Corinthians, the Brazilian team said on Monday.

The 30-year-old, who has made 98 appearances for the Netherlands and scored 46 goals, was not included in the team for this month’s Nations League games. On Saturday, Ronald Koeman’s team defeated Bosnia 5-2, and on Tuesday, they will take against Germany.
Nevertheless, Depay’s international career is far from done, as Koeman has confirmed that his move to Brazil won’t make it harder for him to represent his country, reports ESPN.
Koeman told reporters on Monday, “I didn’t like Steven Bergwijn’s move to Saudi. With Memphis, it can be different.”
“The level of the league in Brazil is different, so yes, he can still be part of the national team, but it depends on his fitness and if he reaches his level.”
Depay had stints at Lyon, Barcelona, and Manchester United after starting his career at PSV Eindhoven. He scored nine goals in 31 games in all competitions for Atlético last season.
Corinthians announced on September 9, 2024, that Memphis had signed a two-year deal.
