Chelsea defender, Ben Chilwell, is reportedly in line to make his first appearance of the season during Tuesday’s Carabao Cup third round tie against League Two side, Barrow.
After being informed he had no future at Stamford Bridge, the England left-back appeared certain to depart the Blues in the summer.
After bringing Chilwell back into first-team training, head coach Enzo Maresca revealed last week that the circumstances had changed and that he now intends to include him in his matchday squad for the third-round cup match.
According to The Mirror, Maresca was asked if the 27-year-old will feature. He said: “I think so. Hopefully we can give him some minutes tomorrow. The idea for him was to leave. In the moment that he’s here, he’s one of the squad, he’s training.
“He will be in the squad tomorrow and hopefully we can give him some minutes.”
In preparation for an in-form team that is 64 spots lower in the football pyramid, Maresca intends to rotate his team. The Italian told his bench players to grab hold of the chance.

“They are players that train every day very good but unfortunately I cannot give them chances,” he said.
“All the players that are not getting so many chances, tomorrow is a good chance for them to get minutes and to hopefully win a game.”
