Barcelona Offer €3 Million Contract To Retired Szczesny

FC Barcelona plans to sign a free agent in the next few days to replace Ter Stegen, who will miss the next seven to eight months due to a ruptured patellar tendon.

The former Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is one of the individuals who fits this condition and has been strongly connected with Barcelona in recent days.

FIFA and La Liga laws enable the Catalans to recruit an unemployed player in certain circumstances.

He is the incoming Barcelona coach Hansi Flick’s top choice. Talks between the two sides appear to be progressing nicely.

The goalkeeper has already accepted a contract offer from the Catalans that runs until the end of current season and is willing to play for the Blaugranes.

The Pole will receive a gross salary of almost €3 million with this arrangement, plus additional bonuses. He now has a contract with the team through the conclusion of the current campaign, but if the goalie performs well enough, the deal might be extended.

The goalkeeper must still complete the details of his separation from Juventus.

Barcelona had contacted Szczesny earlier this week to inquire about his thoughts on taking over following Ter Stegen’s injury, reports Barca News Network.

The Pole is willing to accept this new challenge even though he has already retired, and the chance to once again share a dressing room with Lewandowski encourages him to reach a compromise with the Blaugranes.
