Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Injury Problems For Two Players Following  Madrid Derby, Including Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid conceded a late equaliser to rivals Atletico Madrid in a tense derby on Sunday night, and the bitter taste for Los Blancos only worsened after the game. Carlo Ancelotti, the manager, has stated that Thibaut Courtois and Fran Garcia could both leave. Reported by Football espana.

Fede Valverde took the game’s final goal-kick instead of the Belgian goalie for Los Blancos, which looks to be due to a muscle ailment. After the match, Ancelotti told the press that they were still unsure of the actual problem.

“Fran Garcia had a bad knock, and Courtois had a muscle problem. “He will be evaluated tomorrow,” the Italian said.

The positive could be that Courtois continued to play and made a couple of good saves; if it had been serious, that might not have happened. Garcia was the victim of a brutal tackle by Marcos Llorente, who was sent out following a VAR review, and he apologised to the left-back. Real Madrid will play Lille away in the Champions League before hosting Villarreal before the international break.
