Arteta Gives Injury Update On Calafiori And White

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has issued an injury update on Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League clash against PSG.

White has missed Arsenal’s last two games against Leicester City and Bolton Wanderers. It is acknowledged that a groin issue is the reason for this.

In contrast, Calafiori seemed to stumble and land awkwardly on his knee in the last seconds of Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Leicester.

Following Leandro Trossard’s injury-time goal celebration, the Italian was spotted flexing his joints. After that, the Italian was reportedly seen crying as he left the Emirates Stadium.

According to Football London, Arteta has confirmed that both are a doubt for Tuesday’s clash at the Emirates. “Those are the two players that are in contention and we have to review today,” he said.

When pressed specifically on Calafiori, Arteta would not be drawn on whether any potential injury was serious. “We didn’t do any training session yesterday,” the Spaniard said. “He was a bit emotional after the game. Let’s see how he is today.”

It is acknowledged that Calafiori’s injury is not considered to be very serious. But Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Kieran Tierney are all guaranteed to miss out for Arsenal on Tuesday night.
