Man City Star Arrested For Stealing Mobile Phone In A Nightclub

Manchester City midfielder, Matheus Nunes was reportedly arrested in Spain on charges of theft last month.

According to El Mundo as reported by Goal, the Portuguese was detained by the National Police on September 8 at the La Riviera nightclub in Madrid for allegedly snatching a cell phone from an older male.

After missing out on the Portugal team during the international break, Nunes was spending the weekend in the Spanish city with his pals.

The player was taken into custody at 5:30 am, and according to the police report, he stole a 58-year-old man’s phone from the club’s restroom.

The player claims that the purported victim attempted to take a picture of him without getting his permission, which made him grab his phone away. The man alerted the police right away, and they subsequently discovered a phone in the City player’s room.

According to a different account from witnesses, the player became enraged and believed he had been photographed when the victim touched him while holding the phone. Before being released on bond pending a trial, the 25-year-old spent some time in jail.
