Man United Players Already Want Club Legend As Next Manager If Erik ten Hag Is Sacked

The United players’ dressing room has had enough of manager Erik ten Hag following a dismal run of results that included an ugly 3-0 home loss to Spurs at Old Trafford last weekend.

Even though United spent heavily again this summer, they have lost three straight games and dropped to a miserable 13th spot after winning their opening match against Fulham.

The Daily Star reported that the United board is delaying its decision-making until the next fall international break.

Even though Ten Hag’s team defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup at Wembley in May, rumors over his future persisted all summer long, with reports claiming that United had reached out to many applicants.

But the Dutch manager agreed to a contract extension that would keep him employed until at least 2026.

According to reports, if Erik ten Hag were to leave, the United players would prefer an inside choice.

Legendary United player and current assistant manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy is rumored to be the preferred choice in the locker room.

The 48-year-old is well-liked at Old Trafford because he scored 150 goals in 219 appearances while playing for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Simone Inzaghi, who is now at Inter Milan, is one of the leading candidates to succeed Ten Hag among a number of other well-known personalities that have been connected to the position, reports Sports Bible.

Former England manager Gareth Southgate has strong ties to the position, having resigned as national team manager after England lost 2-1 to Spain in the Euro final this summer.
