Paul Merson Says Liverpool Have A £34m Player Who Is Irreplaceable

Salah will undoubtedly want to maintain his hot streak against Crystal Palace this weekend, and Paul Merson, writing in his Sportskeeda column, has been praising the winger.

Merson claims Salah is in terrific form, but he is concerned about the possibility of the Reds losing him.

Salah is in the final year of his Liverpool contract, and Merson believes the £34 million player is completely irreplaceable, and it would be a nightmare if the club lost him at this moment.

Mohamed Salah is irreplaceable.

Merson gave his thoughts on Salah and how vital he is to the Liverpool team.

“Liverpool have a wealth of good forwards at the club, so they are not short of options. Mohamed Salah’s exploits continued in midweek against Bologna in the Champions League,” Merson said.

“I just think it’ll be a nightmare if Liverpool loses him when he’s in such good form; it’s tough to replace someone like him. All things considered, I predict Liverpool to win here.”

Merson claims that Mohamed Salah is irreplaceable, and he’s not far off.

Of course, there are players in the world who can do what Salah does; Bukayo Saka is putting up similar stats at Arsenal in a similar situation, and Cole Palmer produced similar results from the right wing last season.

However, signing a player of that caliber these days would cost a fortune, and it’s difficult to imagine Liverpool spending enough to recruit an acceptable successor for Salah.

Of course, Federico Chiesa is already at the club, and he is a quality player on his day, but the Italian has struggled with fitness in recent years, and he has no experience in the Premier League.

Salah’s future is a big issue that Liverpool definitely need to address in the coming months.
