Thomas Tuchel Reveals Stance On Man United Job

Thomas Tuchel spoke eloquent about the honor of being the head coach at Old Trafford when visiting Manchester United in the Champions League with Bayern Munich last season.

If manager Erik ten Hag is fired in the next days, the German could be in the United dugout permanently in as little as a few weeks.

In contrast to some of the Red Devils’ purported replacement targets, Tuchel is available after departing Bayern Munich at the end of the last campaign.

The former Chelsea manager had previously met with Sir Jim Ratcliffe throughout the summer before Ten Hag was given a third season to turn around a mainly dismal 2023–24 season.

If United’s management is persuaded to make a change after a dismal start to the season, such conversations may soon resume, reports Express.

Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer are among those scheduled to attend Tuesday’s executive meeting in London, where Tuchel is apparently being lined up as Ten Hag’s replacement.

Prior to United’s match against Bayern Munich in the M16 last season, Tuchel was ecstatic about the opportunity to work on such a big platform.

“No one puts their feet up in Old Trafford. It’s one of the biggest stages in world football,” Tuchel said with a smile on TNT Sports.

“It’s a very special atmosphere, and I’m happy to have the privilege to be on the sideline for a Champions League match at Old Trafford.
