Manchester United Rejected By Another Potential Erik ten Hag Replacement

The lackluster start of Manchester United in this season has put immense pressure on manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

As of the international break, the team is ranked 14th in the Premier League standings and the Dutchman has only managed three victories in 11 games this season.

Following an executive committee meeting on Tuesday, senior Red Devils officials did not provide any information on Ten Hag’s future, suggesting that his position is secured for the time being, reports FourfourTwo.

But one problem the team has is finding strong candidates to take Ten Hag’s job.

Gareth Southgate has been one of the bookmakers’ favourites to replace Ten Hag, amid reports of Manchester United interest in the former England boss earlier this summer.

Southgate ruled out returning to club management this season while speaking at an event hosted by the European Club Association in Athens.

“I am enjoying my life so there is no rush. For 11 years I committed fully to the national federation.

I won’t coach in the next year for sure. I am certain of that. I’m fortunate that there are lots of opportunities presenting themselves. There’s no rush.”
