Bukayo Saka: Arsenal Offered Massive New Injury Boost After The Latest Update

Arsenal appear to have been given new hope that Bukayo Saka will be fit to face Bournemouth when the Premier League returns next weekend.

The Arsenal winger, who has had a fantastic start to the season, went out early in the second half of England’s 2-1 Nations League home defeat against Greece at Wembley Stadium last Thursday night after suffering a leg injury in the build-up to the visitors’ first goal.

Saka was scheduled for a scan on Friday after withdrawing from the Three Lions squad that travelled to Helsinki for Sunday’s 3-1 win over Finland, with Gunners fans concerned about the fitness of another key player injured on international duty after captain Martin Odegaard suffered significant ankle ligament damage while away with Norway last month.

While Arsenal has yet to provide an official update on Saka, interim England manager Lee Carsley appears to have hinted that his injury is not serious, claiming that he would have been “close” to playing against Finland if he had stayed with the squad but did not want to take any chances.

“Bukayo would have been close [to playing vs Finland], but it would have been unfair to take a risk with him,” Carsley said ahead of Sunday’s game, in which Arsenal’s Declan Rice scored for England.

Arsenal fans will now be hoping Saka has escaped an injury layoff as Mikel Arteta’s team prepares to start their Premier League campaign against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

According to Standard Sport, Kai Havertz and Thomas Partey are expected to be healthy for the visit to the south coast, despite withdrawing from international duty with Germany and Ghana last week due to a knee injury and illness.
