Arsenal Star Lands In Trouble With ‘Dark Arts’ On International Duty

Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya was brandished a yellow card for time-wasting during Spain’s 1-0 victory over Denmark just weeks after Arsenal were branded ‘masters of the dark arts’.

Following their 2-2 tie with title rivals Manchester City last month, Raya, 29, was a member of the team that received harsh criticism.

After Leandro Trossard was sent off, leaving Arsenal shorthanded, Mikel Arteta’s team came under fire for wasting time.

As most of their players left to represent their nations, the Gunners and City entered the international break tied for second place in the Premier League, one point behind Liverpool.

According to The Mirror, Raya, one of the Arsenal stars who have played during the break, was able to have fun himself after receiving a booking for delaying a goal kick in extra time during Spain’s 1-0 Nations League victory over Denmark.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher had previously singled out Raya in comments referencing Arsenal’s use of the ‘dark arts’ last month.

Speaking on The Overlap, he said: “When I mention the Mourinho thing, he was always ahead of the game in terms of trying to gain an advantage somewhere.

“There’s one thing I do notice Arsenal doing more than anyone. I don’t know if the stats back me up I think the goalkeeper goes down a lot more than other goalkeepers in tense situations.”
