Liverpool In Advance Talks To Sign Van Dijk Replacement

Liverpool are reportedly nearing a deal to sign Sevilla defender, Loic Bade ahead of the January transfer window.

Virgil van Dijk, the Reds captain, is nearing the end of his contract, which, without a contract renewal, would expire at the end of this season.

The Dutchman may not have many more prime years left at age 33, therefore it is important that the team begin searching for suitable successors as soon as possible.

According to Todifichajes as reported by Football Talks, Liverpool are making good progress in their negotiations to sign Bade, who, if all goes according to plan, may join the Merseyside team in January. Suggesting that the club have already taken proactive measures to find a viable successor.

The report stated that the defender may be sold due to financial issues in the sporting department that have beset the team in recent months. Even though he has been a mainstay for Los Nervionenses this season.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Sevilla’s sporting director Victor Orta is already searching for a successor for the France international. As Liverpool are expected to outbid Bayern Munich for the defender’s services.

The Spanish outfit value Bade at €30 million (£25 million), and he still has a contract at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan that expires in the summer of 2029.

However, according to the source, Liverpool have finalized the 24-year-old’s transfer for a sum of around €25 million (£20 million).

If Virgil van Dijk does not sign a contract extension, the Reds are already preparing for his possible departure.
