Gary Neville Starts Man Utd Ambassadorial Role Days After Sir Alex Is Brutally Axed

Gary Neville has reportedly started a new ambassadorial role at Manchester United, only days after Sir Alex Ferguson was ousted from his position.

Ferguson, 82, was brutally fired by Manchester United during a recent meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s part-owner.

Only days later, according to The Sun, Neville returned to the fold as a freelance ambassador after attending an event at the Minerva Academy in Mohali, India.

Neville documented his trip to Asia, where he participated in Apollo Tyres’ main grassroots football campaign, on Instagram stories. The former full-back is reported to be part of Ratcliffe’s taskforce to establish a ‘Wembley of the North’ for United.

Ferguson is largely recognized as one of the best managers of all time, and he continues to hold the record for most trophies in football history. After leaving from management in 2013, the Scotsman remained with the Red Devils as a global club ambassador and director.

Since Ratcliffe joined the club when Ineos took over football operations, a number of cost-cutting measures have been implemented.

Ferguson remains the heart and soul of Manchester United. Last week, however, it was discovered that he and other members of the club’s board of directors had been warned to avoid the dressing room.

Although it is critical for Ratcliffe to cut expenditures for United at the present, a character like Ferguson is frequently viewed as valuable.

The ex-manager has retained his position as a non-executive director of the club, and sources say he remains a close friend and is always welcome at the ‘Theatre of Dreams.’
