According to Roma icon Francesco Totti, Serie A teams are still contacting him to inquire about a possible comeback to professional football.

He also stated that he believes it would take two to three months of training to go back to playing shape.

The 48-year-old Totti played 786 games and scored 307 goals for Roma during his career before retiring from football in 2017.

“There were Serie A teams that called me. I admit that they made me think a little, a little crazy,” Totti said. “It would be difficult, but in life you never say never.

“There are players who have played many years after the end of their career. It also depends on where you play, with all due respect, but if I were to return to Serie A I would have to train really well.

The 2006 World Cup champion stated that if Lazio, Roma’s fiercest rivals, were to bid for his services, he would decline to play for them.

“Lazio? “I wouldn’t even think about it,” he declared. “I’m still playing at 48, so I’d be ready in two to three months. It’s strange, but if I had to do it, I would do it in Italy rather than elsewhere.

Totti, who represented Italy 58 times, also stated that he had no intention of retiring, reports ESPN

Roma’s 2023–24 season has started poorly, and after losing their first four league games, they fired Daniele De Rossi.

Having won two of his four domestic games since taking over, Ivan Jurić has them in tenth place in the rankings.
