Antony has found it difficult to establish himself as a reliable choice for Ten Hag since moving to the north-west from Ajax for an incredible £82 million in the summer of 2022.
The maverick forward had an unimpressive season last season after scoring eight goals in his first season in Manchester.

Antony has seldom played for the Red Devils this season, having fallen further down the hierarchy behind players like Alejandro Garnacho, Rashford and Amad.
Due to the 24-year-old’s poor status in the team, United is reportedly planning to consider loan bids for the player in January.
Ten Hag showed a little faith in the Brazil international last night when he chose him to chase a winner over Amad, who has shown flashes of his talent this season, reports Give Me Sport.
In an interview with the media following the match, the under-pressure head coach defended the choice by pointing to Antony’s recent training results:
“Amad, he is doing well, but I must also reward the performances of Antony in training. He is a threat almost every training session, so I felt in that moment the right thing to do was bring him on to decide the game.”
