Albert Sambi Lokonga of Arsenal has been on loan to Sevilla since the summer transfer window.
On Tuesday, Sevilla boss García Pimienta praised the 25-year-old as a ‘great player’ and emphasized his importance to the team.
Earlier this month, we highlighted reports from Spain that Sevilla intends to make a cheaper offer to Arsenal for the midfielder rather than exercise the purchase option.

Vamos, Mi. Sevilla FC currently claims the Spanish club has an option to buy the player for €12 million. According to certain sources, it is fixed at €10 million, and they would struggle to match that price for the Belgian international.
As a result, Sevilla sporting director Victor Orta devised a strategy to try to acquire the Arsenal-owned player. His contract with the Gunners runs until 2026.
Orta hopes to persuade the former Anderlecht player that staying with the Andalusian club is the best option. He also wants Lokonga to ‘create pressure’ on Mikel Arteta’s team. This can help Sevilla cut the price because he will have a year left on his contract at the end of the season.
Sevilla could suffer a blow if another club comes forward to buy the Arsenal man next summer.
