Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has broken another record following Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday night.
In the much anticipated match, the man who was first predicted to succeed Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside, Xabi Alonso, who led Leverkusen to an incredible Bundesliga Invincibles run the previous season, faced off against the German’s successor.
After a few scares as Leverkusen blasted forward, Liverpool fought their way to a goalless draw in the first half. Though, Jeremie Frimpong had a goal disallowed just before halftime.
But the floodgates opened in the second half as Cody Gakpo scored his first goal in the Champions League proper and Colombian star Luis Diaz scored his first hat-trick while donning Liverpool colors.
According to Sports Mole, Slot has now earned 14 victories during his brief stint as manager of Liverpool. Setting a new record for the most games won in a manager’s first 16 games in charge of a Premier League side by presiding over the side’s resounding victory over the German champions.

Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, the previous record holders, who each won 13 of their first 16 games as Chelsea’s manager in 2004 and 2009, respectively, have now been surpassed by the Dutchman.
Former record holder Ancelotti, saw his Real Madrid side suffered a shocking 3-1 home loss to AC Milan, putting the holders six points behind Liverpool in the 36-team Champions League table prior to their match at Anfield on November 27.
