Arne Slot described Mohamed Salah achievement of ten goals and ten assists this season as “special.”
The Liverpool No.11 scored one of each in Saturday night’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Aston Villa, putting the Reds five points clear at the top of the league.
Salah broke away late on and clinched the victory in typically immaculate fashion, following his role in the counter-attack that led to Darwin Nunez’s opening goal in the first half at Anfield.
“I’ve worked with him now for four or five months, and you’ve seen him here for six or seven years in a row now,” Slot told Liverpoolfc.com after the game when questioned about the Egyptian’s numbers this season. Reported by LFC.

“It’s remarkable that he has already scored so many goals; what’s more astonishing is that he has done so year after year. Not many players can do that, and his ability to do so speaks much about his talent.”
At the other end of the ball, Slot’s men held off Villa’s talent to record their ninth clean sheet in 17 matches in all competitions this season.
While Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk performed admirably as a central defensive partnership, the hosts also relied on Caoimhin Kelleher to keep the visitors out on many occasions.
The head coach stated that his squad was ‘enjoying’ the task of defending: “We didn’t have to defend much because they had ball possession and we were pushed back into our own 18-yard box.” But they were constantly threatening us with their set pieces.
