I’ve Made £10 Billion Since Leaving Arsenal, And I Won’t Rule Out A Gunners Takeover

Former Arsenal footballer Mathieu Flamini, now a billionaire, has already hinted about potentially controlling the club in the future. Flamini is well-regarded by Arsenal fans during his time with the club, where he made 153 appearances and won the FA Cup while almost losing out on the Champions League in 2006.

He returned to the club for a second term in 2013, making another 93 appearances following a five-year spell at AC Milan. Flamini co-founded GFBiochemicals in 2010, while still active as a football player.

Fast forward 14 years, and he now owns 60% of the company and serves as CEO. According to Forbes, this investment increased his net wealth to £10 billion, enough to buy any Premier League club, including Arsenal.

“We founded GF Biochemicals with the ambition of finding sustainable alternatives to oil-based products,” Flamini previously stated about his company. The company focuses on developing environmentally acceptable alternatives to potentially dangerous petrochemicals present in daily things such as plastic, rubber, and even bath gel.

While his economic prowess may have garnered him enough money to launch a takeover bid, current Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has turned down all past bids to buy the club. However, when asked about the possibility of buying Arsenal in an interview with The Athletic, Flamini stated: “Football is the No.1 sport, it is attracting so much attention; the hot issues of the world should also be on the agenda of the governing bodies.”

“I belong in this world. If there is the right chance, the right moment, and the appropriate discussion, and I meet people who share my vision, philosophy, and want to use football for good, I would be delighted.
