Ruben Amorim has identified the ‘perfect solution’ for the left wing-back position in Manchester United’s new 3-4-3 system. However Real Madrid must be usurped before the dream can come true.
Amorim will use the traditional 3-4-3 shape at United, having previously led Sporting with it to win two Primeira Liga titles. The use of specialised players in wing-back positions is critical to the system’s effectiveness.
According to a report from Fussball News as reported by Team Talk, Amorim has identified Bayern Munich defender, Alphonso Davies as his ‘ideal answer’ for left wing-back.
The 24-year-old Canada international is out of contract at the end of the season and so free to strike a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs on January 1.

United, reportedly at the request of Amorim, seek to sign Davies as a superstar free agent next summer.
However, before the Red Devils can realize their aim of deploying Davies on the left side, they must beat Real Madrid to his signing.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also in the running to sign Davies as a free agent. According to the report, the Red Devils hope to reach a pre-contract deal with Davies in January, which means they must act quickly if they want to bring ‘the right piece of the puzzle’ for Amorim to Old Trafford.
