The Colombian international has scored two goals in eight appearances for Unai Emery’s team since Aston Villa awarded him a new contract on October 7th that runs until 2030.
The 20-year-old came off the bench in Colombia’s 1-0 loss to Ecuador on Tuesday after starting in their loss to Uruguay. The Aston Villa player addressed media in the mixed zone following yesterday’s match.
Durán and Richard Ríos of Palmeiras engaged in a verbal fight with reporters.
When asked what was lacking for Colombia in their most recent loss, Durán paused to speak to the media in the mixed zone and was accused of being arrogant.
When the frontman asked one of the reporters, “Why aren’t you a coach?” he came across as a little immature.
According to Sport Witness, Durán had to be removed from the mixed zone by a national team official, most likely to prevent him from digging a bigger hole.
