Chelsea defender, Levi Colwill went down the memory lane to recall when he told Liverpool star, Virgil van Dijk to shut up. But he soon realized his error in the way his “idol,” the captain of the Reds, responded.
Over the years, there have been some intense matches between Liverpool and Chelsea, whether they have taken place at Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Wembley, or even abroad.

The Carabao Cup victory over the Blues last season was one of the last memorable moments of Klopp’s tenure as club manager. During the 2023–2024 season, the two teams played three games without Liverpool losing.
The first of these was a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, which brought to mind the first day of that term.
According to Liverpool Echo, following his return from a loan with Brighton the previous season, Colwill was making his debut for his boyhood club that day, which inevitably led to a run-in with Van Dijk.
“I remember marking him in the box. He said something to me and I might have told him to shut up, accidentally,” the 21-year-old told TNT Sports. “He looked at me like; ‘Who is this little boy’?”
Realising what had happened in the moment, Colwill added: “I thought; ‘Ahh I’ve just disrespected him. But that is what it is, my bad. It was [crazy].”
