Suarez and Inter Miami reached an agreement on Wednesday to extend his contract by one year for the next campaign.

Suarez earned $1.5 million this year in his debut season with Inter Miami, where he scored a club-high 25 goals in all competitions and 20 goals in Major League Soccer regular season play.
During this MLS regular season, Inter Miami set MLS records for both points (74) and winning percentage (.765).

The team lost to Atlanta United in the best-of-three series and was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round.
Suarez, who turns 38 in January, has extended his contract, keeping the core group of Inter Miami players with Barcelona connections intact.
Suarez plays at Inter Miami with Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, who formerly partnered with the dominant Spanish squad.
Javier Mascherano, who was officially hired as Inter Miami’s coach on Tuesday, also played with the quartet at Barcelona, reports TSN.
Throughout the past four World Cup campaigns, Suarez has played for Uruguay.
In addition to playing for Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, he has won several accolades, including World Cup All-Star Team, FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball, Premier League Player of the Season, and Dutch Player of the Year.
