Barcelona are reportedly navigating several options on the contract renewal of Frenkie de Jong as the Dutchman is seen as a pivotal figure for the Catalan club.
Barcelona seem to be taking a calculated approach in ensuring De Jong’s long-term future at the club. As sources indicate that Hansi Flick plans to rely heavily on him in the second half of the season.
At 27, De Jong is still a key member of Barca’s squad, especially as Flick intends to win a trophy this season. The Dutchman is thought to be essential to the Blaugrana’s goals, particularly as they aim to win the UEFA Champions League and La Liga.
