Mikel Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Magalhaes is still a doubt for Arsenal’s Premier League matchup against West Ham due to the discomfort he had in midweek.
The Gunners defeated Sporting Lisbon 5-1 on the road in the Champions League on Tuesday, with Gabriel scoring their third goal.
Due to late concerns, the defender had to leave the field in the closing minutes, though, and Jakob Kiwior took his place.
According to The Metro, Arteta stated after the game that the 26-year-old Brazilian had experienced some “discomfort” before being substituted. And that he is still doubtful for the team’s trip to West Ham this weekend.

“We will wait and see,” said Arteta at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning when asked about Gabriel’s fitness for Saturday’s fixture.
Pressed on any further injury news about his squad, the Spaniard added: “Not a lot because we have another training session. We have to see how the boys are today.
“A few of them weren’t able to train yesterday but hopefully they will be able to today.”
