Messi To kick Off New FIFA Club World Cup In 2025 Tournament

Juventus The new FIFA Club World Cup will begin with a match between Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami and Cairo-based Al Ahly, according to the draw released on Thursday. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has stated that the event will “start a new era in club football” by bringing together 32 clubs from all over the world.

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami will start off FIFA’s new 32-team Club World Cup on June 15 against Egypt’s Al Ahly, according to the tournament draw released on Thursday. Reported by UK News.

Palmeiras of Brazil and Porto of Portugal round out Group A, along with Argentina World Cup winner Messi, whose Miami team was awarded a spot by FIFA after finishing first in the MLS regular season standings.

Messi’s former Barcelona team-mate, Brazilian Neymar, will have a reunion with La Liga rivals and European champions Real Madrid in Group H.

Twelve European clubs will feature in the tournament with Manchester City facing Juventus in Group G of a tournament which FIFA president Gianni Infantino said would “start a new era in club football”.
