Man United, Real Madrid Suffer Major Transfer Blow In Pursuit Of Davies

Bayern Munich have reportedly made ‘significant progress’ in their bid to tie Alphonso Davies to a new long-term contract at the club.

The Canada international’s contract at Allianz Arena is set to end next summer. And in recent months, there has been a lot of speculation about his future. Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing him.

The 24-year-old left-back has long been regarded as Real Madrid’s favorite, but according to a recent source, Man United see him as their “dream target.”

It did seem at one point that Davies would be departing Bayern, as talks between the two sides over a new contract were thought to have come to a standstill.

According to Sky Germany as reported by Sport Mole, there has been significant progress and that Bayern are optimistic that they will soon be ready to make public, a new contract for the Canadian.

According to the report, several ‘important financial issues are being resolved’ and the conversations ‘are well advanced’.

With 19 appearances across all competitions and three assists, the former Vancouver Whitecaps star has once again been a key member of Bayern’s squad in the 2024–25 season.

After joining the Allianz Arena outfit in January 2019, Davies has made 214 appearances for his current team across all competitions, tallying 34 assists and 11 goals.
