“It was a really good atmosphere to play against so I enjoyed it to be back in Germany.”
Flick told reporters that the first half was “one of the best we’ve played” since his arrival in the summer.
“Winning here is incredibly wonderful. We understood that whomever won here would make a significant stride toward qualification. “It was our goal, and we worked hard to achieve it,” the German explained.
The coach tempered expectations, stating that the five-time Champions League winners still had “a long way to go” in the new format.
“That’s why we’ll be looking from game to game. I think we’re doing really well with that.”
