Chelsea has revived the Premier League title fight in recent weeks, with victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford in the London derby.
The Blues rallied from 2-0 down to overcome Spurs 4-3 earlier this month, closing the gap on Liverpool, who were unable to play owing to a postponement of their match against Everton.
Prior to those games, Liverpool had drawn 3-3 against Newcastle United, while Chelsea had beaten Southampton 5-1.
On Saturday, the Reds could only draw with Fulham, allowing Chelsea the opportunity to cut their advantage to two points, which Enzo Maresca’s team took with a 2-1 win over the Bees.
Chelsea’s forthcoming festive schedule appears to be favorable, with games against Everton, Fulham, Ipswich Town, and Crystal Palace.

According to Premier League rules, players who receive five yellow cards in a club’s first 19 matches will be suspended for one match. Nicolas Jackson and Robert Sánchez now have four cautions each.
With Chelsea having played 16 games, the duo has three games to avoid a booking, which would result in a suspension. Both players are at risk of missing the Boxing Day derby against Fulham since a yellow card against Everton will result in a ban.
Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella, who was sent off against Brentford on Sunday, is already facing a suspension.
The Spaniard received his second yellow card after the final whistle at Stamford Bridge and is suspended for the trip to Everton. He has been yellow carded six times this season and is four cautions away from a two-game suspension, since any player who is booked ten times in a club’s first 32 matches would be sidelined for a longer term.
