Arsenal Consider Signing Sevilla Star To Replace Thomas Partey

Arsenal could change significantly next season, as Mikel Arteta’s side still need an injection of quality players to bridge the difference between winning the Premier League title and just losing out, as has been the case in recent seasons.

However, a new defensive midfielder could be part of their plans, as Thomas Partey’s contract is set to expire at the end of 2024/25 and the former Atletico Madrid player has yet to be offered a renewal. According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are considering a move for Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume.

The La Liga star has been a revelation in the Spanish top flight this season, establishing himself as a major member of the Sevilla squad after 17 appearances across all competitions.

According to Football Transfers, the 22-year-old’s impressive growth has led to speculation that he could move to England, with Arsenal ‘closely monitoring’ his situation.

Agoume is a good long-term signing.

Arsenal’s interest in Lucien Agoume demonstrates their excellent scouting network, as the French youngster’s abilities would have otherwise gone unnoticed. He would be an excellent addition to the Arsenal squad, particularly in the long run.

Despite Partey’s anticipated departure next summer, the team is unlikely to require a very experienced and consistent holding option, as Declan Rice and Mikel Merino have proven to be good players in this role.

Agoume may join Arsenal and spend his early years developing under the tutelage of a terrific manager and two of the world’s best defensive midfielders.

Agoume is only worth £5 million on Transfermarkt, therefore Arsenal will have no big issues if they chose to pursue their interest in him.

Meanwhile, it is unclear whether the transfer is planned for the winter or if the north Londoners intend to scout him until the end of the season before making a decision.
